Unemployment in Douglas County saw an increase in January, according to figures released Friday by the state. The county posted an 11. 8 percent jobless rate up from 10.9 percent in December. The total number of employed workers was 18,400 in January, up 200 from December, but the number of people collecting unemployment was also up from 2,220 to 2,450. With January’s 9.7 percent jobless rate, Nevada no longer had the highest unemployment percentage in the nation.
