On Monday, disbarred attorney Michael Charles Meisler was sentenced to 12 years in prison after being convicted of aggravated stalking by a jury of his peers. For those of us watching the trial, there were a lot of things that weighed against Meisler that the jury never saw. His prior convictions for essentially the same offense were not on the menu when a jury of eight women and four men deliberated in January after hearing three days worth of testimony.
