The R-C Morning Report for Aug. 28

A hand crew will be hacking away at the Kingsbury fire for another day or so, but it is otherwise down for the count. The Grade was closed for just over four hours while firefighters completed their work.

It sounded over the scanner like they found the site of the helicopter crash near Horseshoe Bend in the Pine Nuts just before dark. The pilot sought treatment without the help of an ambulance, so that’s good news. I don’t know much more about it than that right now, including when the crash happened.

We’ll learn the names of the six candidates for clerk-treasurer this morning I hope. When I get them I’ll post them with that story.

Expect sunny skies today with the wind out of the west at 5 mph, then shifting direction later this morning. Expect the temperature to hit at least 90 today. There’s supposed to be a cooling trend by Friday.
