Two people were injured on Sunday in Mono County accidents investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
A Bridgeport man received serious injuries when the Polaris all-terrain vehicle he was riding on the dry lake bed of Bridgeport Reservoir overturned and rolled several times.
Brad L. Dunn, 49, was still inside the vehicle when rescuers arrived. He was taken by helicopter to Renown Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
According to the CHP’s preliminary investigation, Dunn was not wearing a helmet or seatbelt in the accident, which was reported at 10:35 a.m.
Mono County paramedics, Bridgeport firefighters and U.S. Forest Service personnel responded to the accident.
A Carson City woman was helicoptered to Reno after she was thrown from her Harley Davidson after striking a rock on Highway 89 west of Highway 395.
Shelly Harmon, 44, was wearing her safety gear when she traveled off the roadway and down a steep dirt embankment.
She was taken by ambulance to Holbrook Junction where she was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center.
The accident was reported 1:25 p.m.
