The R-C Morning Report for Aug. 19

Eighteen years after the first Tahoe Summit, officials and politicians are gathering today at Valhalla to celebrate the Lake and talk about drought, wildfire and invasive species. The summit kicks off at 9 a.m., so you should get a move on if you’re planning to go. Parking will be a challenge, I’m told.

A Washoe Valley man could be ordered to prison this morning in the theft of 60 solar panels from a church and the college as well as two homes. Geoffrey Meudt, 40, admitted to the theft at a June hearing. His defense attorney blamed his drug use for the crime. He could be placed on probation.

Today’s forecast is for sunny with a high of 89 degrees. The wind will be out of the west at 5-10 mph.
