Squall brings rain to Pine Nuts

Water up to a foot deep is being reported in upper Johnson Lane near Squires Street.

Flooding was reported to Douglas County at 2:10 p.m. A thunderstorm rolled quickly up the east side of Carson Valley dropping heavy rain.

The storm is moving north at about 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service. It is expected to arrive in Reno by 3 p.m.

Heavy rain, occasional lightning and hail along with dime-sized hail are falling with the storm. Winds of up to 50 mph are accompanying the storm.

Forecasters say to expect ponding on roadways from the rain. There’s a chance of minor rock slides in steep terrain.

Locations from Johnson Lane, Indian Hills, Dayton and Gold Hill are expected to see rain over the next 45 minutes.
