The R-C Morning Report for Aug. 8

While approving four festivals in Genoa for Candy Dance weekend, county commissioners told staff to come back with a solution that would result in a single festival for the last weekend in September.

The CVIC Hall will be packed with 150 teachers today for a math presentation by “Let’s Talk Math” author Kim Sutton. She is the author of 14 titles spanning the elementary grade levels.

On their way out of their conference, the teachers will get to count the cars in the annual Main Street Event, which starts 4 p.m. today. Also tonight is Gardnerville’s last movie in Heritage Park, “Back to the Future.” For more about what’s going on in Carson Valley pick up a copy of The Record-Courier.

Scattered thunderstorms are back in the forecast for this afternoon with a high temperature of 89 degrees. The wind will be light at 5 mph, so if you get a thunderstorm, it won’t be moving much.
