Yogurt Beach opens in Gardnerville

The much-anticipated opening of Yogurt Beach in Gardnerville occurred on Wednesday.

Members of the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce participated in a ribbon cutting at the business, located on Waterloo Lane behind Walgreen’s. The store opening was announced last spring.

Director of Marketing Teresa Clark said the location is close to Lampe Park, offering 21 flavors of yogurt, along with sorbet, milk shakes, floats and 50 toppings. Partners and owners Jason Fairman and Richard Wenschlag will employ 12 workers at the restaurant.

“It lets you enjoy a little mini-vacation any day of the week,” Clark said of the family-owned business.

She said the company is community-driven, and has programs to help sports teams and charitable organizations reach their fundraising goals.

The yogurt costs 44 cents an ounce with gluten-free, nonfat, and dairy-free options daily. Tours and birthday parties are also available.

The store is open 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily. For more information call 267-7688 or download the free Yogurt Beach mobile app.
