The R-C Morning Report for July 21

Thunderstorms produced nine fires in the Sierra Front for a total acreage of 2 acres. Firefighters have successfully suppressed all fires set last night. Don’t be surprised to see a little smoke on the mountain today after the light show we had last night.

The California Highway Patrol responded to an accident just after midnight today on Highway 395 just south of the state line, where a 2000 Subaru Outback was blocking southbound 395 with major front end damage. The 51-year-old Arizonan driving the Subaru missed a curve, no doubt due in part to the .17 BAC revealed by a preliminary breath test.

According to the NVEnergy outage map, it looks like power was restored to all the folks at Lake Tahoe.

There’s a chance we’ll see some thunderstorms after 11 a.m. today, but nothing like Sunday’s storms. Expect an unseasonably cool 83 degrees for the high temperature. We’ll be back in the 90s by Friday at latest.
