A tentative agreement is up for ratification between the Douglas County School Board and Professional Educators Association at today’s meeting at Lake Tahoe. Also up is an outline for a study group to look at Whittell High School’s curriculum. The school board meets 3:30 p.m. at the Lake Tahoe Visitor’s Authority.
The old Aloha Ranch development in the Gardnerville Ranchos is seeing a little activity at the Douglas County Planning Commission today. First approved in 2004, developers of what is now the Rain Shadow Ranch are seeking to increase the first phase by one lot to 18. Planning commissioners meet at 1 p.m. at the historic Douglas County Courthouse in Minden.
The Minnehaha Canyon fire was reported contained at 9 p.m. Monday. It held at 251 acres, according to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch.
While Carson had a 3.1 magnitude earthquake on Monday, a spot between Mammoth Lakes and Lake Crowley has been positively vibrating, experiencing 30 small quakes since Sunday night, none larger than a 1.9. The most recent one was 6:12 a.m. today.
