3.16 quake rattles Carson

Nearly 100 Carson City residents reported feeling a 3.16 earthquake centered right under Arrowhead Drive in northern Eagle Valley.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at 5:16 p.m. and was centered 9.6 kilometers not far from Capital City Gun Club. A .1 magnitude earthquake occurred shortly after the large one.

Ten Incline Village residents reported feeling the earthquake, while only one Minden resident did.

Nevada is the third most active state for earthquakes in the nation after Alaska and California.
