Work on improving the business model for Genoa’s Cowboy Festival could include throwing it out altogether, town board members said Tuesday. Town Chairman Dave Whitgob speaking for a committee working on the process asked town board members if they would be willing to discuss replacing the event with a single concert that came closer to the eventual goal of making $50,000 for the town.
Minden Town Board members will discuss accepting a $199,400 bid by V&C Construction to build Martin Slough Trailhead at Jake’s Wetlands. The discussion between Bently Enterprises and the town for the purchase of property at 1613 Water St. is also back before the board. The town board meets 5:30 p.m. at the CVIC Hall.
It looks like the only reported fire burning as a result of Tuesday’s storm is up near Cold Springs. Most of the responses last night were false alarms. The Woodfords fire was real, but it wasn’t far from the firehouse, and firefighters were on it within minutes.
