The R-C Morning Report for June 30

A couple of wildland fires were reported around 10 a.m. at Highway 50 and Kahle Drive. The fire was burning slowly out in Rabe Meadow and firefighters were able to get a handle on it pretty quickly. The cause is under investigation.

A 18-year-old who racked up a collection of pot charges in a very short period of time is scheduled for sentencing today. Gardnerville resident Adam Fitzgerald-Wermes is seeking entry into a diversion program.

It doesn’t look like it’s going to be quite as hot as originally forecast, with the high temperature climbing to 94 today with an east wind at 5 mph. Expect 95 on Tuesday and 94 on Wednesday before it cools down a tad.
