A bystander confirmed the deputies were showing mug shots of James McDowell around Genoa at about 5 p.m. By 6:15 p.m. when I drove through town there wasn’t a patrol car in sight. We’ve received no word that James McDowell has been captured, either.
County commissioners met to discuss the annual tax rates on Wednesday night. A comparison between the coming year and next year showed no increase in the overall rates. However, Genoa, Cave Rock, Kingsbury, Lake Ridge, Oliver Park, and Zephyr Knolls all saw tax increases. It was drizzling out this morning with cloudy skies. It also looks like it’s raining up in the Sierra to the south. The wind will pick up later to 10-15 mph and then to 15-20 mph, gusting up to 30 mph, as the clouds clear out. Expect the high to hit 72 today.
Today should be it for cool temperatures as the mercury finally remembers it’s summer and climbs to 92 on Sunday, 96 on Monday and close to 100 on Tuesday.
