The R-C Morning Report for June 25

Grocery Outlet’s job fair is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at 1133 Spruce St., in Gardnerville. They’re looking for 40 people to work in the store, which will occupy the former Scolari’s. The store is expected to open around the end of July.

On Monday, Fallon casino owner David Scott Tate listed the C.O.D. Casino’s name with Douglas County, another step toward opening Carson Valley’s first new major gaming property in decades.

Two people who tried to evade deputies in a vehicle that was reported stolen are scheduled to appear in East Fork Justice Court this afternoon. Mariah Marie Beltran-Oribello, 22, and Nesar Ahmad Azimi, 30, were arrested June 17 after a deputy stopped a vehicle for not having a license plate.

The red flag for extreme fire weather goes up today at 1 p.m. for about 10 hours today. Expect breezy conditions with a west wind 5-15 mph increasing to 15-25 mph, with 35 mph gusts, this afternoon. The high temperature today is expected to hit 82.
