The R-C Morning Report for June 9

I received word on Sunday that Foothill resident James Brown, husband to Planning Commissioner Jo Etta Brown, died over the weekend. I don’t have specifics. James was the first vice chairman of the Nevada Democratic Party. He was president of the Douglas County chapter of the Nevada Alliance for Retired Americans.

The continued arraignment of Joseph B. Bonilla, 36, is scheduled this morning in Douglas County District Court on charges of sexual assault and lewdness on a child under the age of 14. The incident occurred between May 28 and June 30, 2013. Bonilla’s is one of several on the court docket today.

It’s going to be warm today, with the high temperature climbing into the low 90s, but it won’t stay that way long. Thunderstorms are in the forecast for Tuesday, and then a dry low pressure zone will bring gusty winds and fire weather on Thursday.
