The R-C Morning Report for June 6

Looks like they had a grass fire up above Reno on Thursday afternoon, but no sign of lightning strikes. Expect more lightning tonight after 5 p.m. The high is expected to climb to 87 degrees today, at least.

Gardnerville’s first movie is “Frozen” in Heritage Park is tonight at dusk. Maybe looking at something cold will help us cool off a tad.

Friends of Hope Valley will have a work day on Saturday and a concert fundraiser on Sunday, if you’re looking for an excuse to get up into the mountains. Bring work gloves, a shovel and fencing pliers 9 a.m. Saturday for the work day. You don’t need any of those things for the concert, just your ears.

R-C alum Scott Neuffer is signing copies of his book at Shelby’s Book Store in Minden 6 p.m. today. For more happenings this weekend, pick up a copy of today’s Record-Courier in stands now.
