The Main Street Gardnerville Board announces the retirement of two of its members, Susie Biaggini and Carol Sandmeier.
Both women were on the original board when the Main Street Gardnerville Program was created in 2008, and they will continue to volunteer for projects and events.
The board is looking to fill both vacancies. One person chosen will serve a three-year term, and the second person chosen will serve until June 2015, at which point a request can be made to remain on the board for a three-year term.
Applications will be accepted until June 13. Applications should be sent to Main Street Gardnerville, 1407 Highway 395 N, Gardnerville, NV 89410.
Board applications are available both at the Main Street Gardnerville offices and online at www.mainstreetgardnerville.org.
Applications will be reviewed and a recommendation of appointment will be made by the Main Street Gardnerville Board of Directors at their regularly scheduled meeting 6 p.m. June 17. All applicants are encouraged to attend if their schedule permits.
The Main Street Four-Point Approach is based on simultaneous work in the areas of organization, promotion, design, and district vitality, with emphasis on grass roots volunteerism and public participation. Main Street Gardnerville is a community based self-help program partnering with various members of the community to revitalize the downtown. Even though Main Street Gardnerville focuses strictly on the downtown district, the program benefits the entire community and surrounding areas.
The Main Street Gardnerville Board of Directors meets 6 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month in the Gardnerville Town Hall, 1407 Highway 395. The public is always invited and encouraged to attend.
