The R-C Morning Report for May 23

Our section of the big dust storm appears to have stalled over Yerington, but it got to Reno and Sparks with 40-50 mph winds and visibility lower than a quarter mile. Wind gusts east of Yerington got up to nearly 30 mph around 10 p.m., when it was completely still here.

With the three-day weekend, things are a little quiet in the Valley before the big push starting with graduation next week. Early voting starts Saturday. There’s also the Shop Small Northern Nevada fair at Heritage Park 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The forecast will start looking more like May this weekend, with high temperatures in the low 80s. The wind picks up again on Memorial Day.
