Mothers Against Drunk Driving is seeking extraordinary speakers for victim impact panels held in Douglas County.
MADD needs people who are either survivors of an impaired driving crash or people who have lost family or friends in an impaired driving crash to speak to impaired driving offenders.
An ideal speaker is someone who can speak from the heart about the effect this crash has had on his/her’s life.
The time commitment for the rest of this year would be speaking four times. The panels are during the day either at 9 a.m. or 3 p.m.
“This program has been very successful because of the extraordinary speakers,” organizer Linda Finch said. “Each individual speaker adds another perspective to the offenders and hopefully they will hear a message that deters them from driving impaired in the future.”
Call Finch at MADD, 267-2277 or at Shelby’s Book Shoppe at 782-5484 for more information.
