The R-C Morning Report for May 7

Gardnerville Town Board members supported the idea of pursuing the purchase of a five-acre parcel north of Heritage Park. The parcel is zoned commercial and has been used with permission for parking and other town events.

Minden Town Board members will discuss an up to 3 percent increase in garbage collection rates at their regular meeting 5:30 p.m. today at the CVIC Hall.

Douglas County commissioners held their third budget hearing on Monday afternoon. Their meeting to adopt the final budget is May 19.

Expect sunny skies and cool temperatures today with the high forecast to hit 63 degrees. A north breeze will pick up later this afternoon. According to the forecast, it’s going to be a bit before we see temperatures in the 80s again.
