The R-C Morning Report for May 5

Minden resident Gordon Boettger and San Diego resident Hugh Bennett made it about 870 miles. They landed safely at 6:49 p.m. in northeastern Wyoming. If the distance is correct, then Boettger and Bennett have broken their own previous distance record of 743 miles set last year.

Smith’s Food and Drug in Gardnerville will be adding a gas station and is seeking a variance for permission to erect a sign with gas prices on it. That will be at the Gardnerville Town Board meeting on Tuesday.

Expect mostly sunny skies on this Cinco de Mayo, with winds 15-20 mph in the afternoon, gusting to 35 mph. Showers are supposed to arrive around midnight and start up again around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
