Jacks Valley to be closed for night photo shoots

Two blocks of Jacks Valley Road will be closed three nights next week for an automotive headlight advertising campaign.

The photo shoot will require the road to be closed between Arcadia and Green Acre drives from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, according to Douglas County.

“The purpose of the closure is to capture still frame images for an automotive headlight advertising campaign,” county Public Information Officer Melissa Blosser said. “The vehicles used to create the headlight images will be stationary and the headlights will be powered by an external battery source reducing and additional engine noise.”

Blosser said traffic will be detoured south on Arcadia Drive to Pawnee Street and then north on Green Acres Drive back to Jacks Valley Road. Traffic on the north side of Jacks Valley Road will be detoured to Bucks Way and south to Jacks Valley Road on Green Acres Drive. Appropriate traffic control and location flagging teams will be provided by Silver State Barricade.

Blosser said Corey Rich Productions is aware of noise regulations and does not anticipate any disturbance to local residents.

The company is based out of South Lake Tahoe.
