The R-C Morning Report for April 24

It’s Taco Thursday 5-7 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 1227 Kimmerling in the Ranchos. If you get there early, you can make the showing of “The Passive House Revolution,” at 6 p.m. at the Cooperative Extension offices on Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville. They’re asking for a $5 donation, but dinner and a movie for about $10 seems like a pretty good deal. RSVP vrbates@charter.net if you’re interested in the movie.

We’ve got a second spring storm rolling in today with a chance of rain tonight. Expect gusty winds of up to 45 mph in most places. Showers will start late Thursday in the Sierra with the snow level down to 5,000 feet on Friday.

If rain’s likely on Friday, than wind’s certain today. The wind will pick up later this morning, and then really get going around 2 p.m. Today’s high temperature is forecast to hit 66 degrees, with Friday’s high only getting up to 52. It will be windy tonight, too.
