The R-C Morning Report for April 4

Former Carson City Manager Larry Werner is officially interim Douglas County Manager and will be on The R-C Running Commentary on Wednesday with Steve Mokrohisky for Steve’s farewell to cyber R-C Land. Send any questions you have for them to editor@recordcourier.com.

I got word that the town of Gardnerville was approved for an $88,700 community block grant for the first phase of the Eagle Gas Station project. The town may be renaming the station in the near future. I’ve heard Gardnerville Station in honor of the town’s founding in 1879 is a possibility.

The National Weather Service is still calling it even odds that we’ll get some precipitation today. Me, I think those clouds are going to have to get thicker and start square dancing before we’ll see any rain or snow. Forecast high is 51, and the wind 5-10 mph, increasing to 10-15 mph with 25 mph gusts this afternoon. Little or no snow accumulation seems about right, though.
