The R-C Morning Report for March 31

An 18-year-old Gardnerville Ranchos man who left his identification at the scene of a vehicle theft is scheduled to be arraigned in Douglas County District Court this morning. Patrick Wayne Adams was arrested for auto theft on Feb. 27 a few hours after the victim reported his pickup missing.

This week is going to be a big one on the county beat, with no fewer than three commissioner meetings starting with budget hearings on Tuesday and Wednesday. Commissioners start the budget process at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

There are a few patches of blue out this morning, but the sky is mostly gray as an impending winter storm warning is in effect in western Douglas County from 2 p.m. today to 11 a.m. Tuesday. Expect 6-12 inches of snow above 7,000 feet early Tuesday morning. We’ll see a little snow in the Valley, but this storm is drier than the last one.
