Reward for stolen solar panel tips

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several theft reports of solar panels taken from different location within Douglas County.

The first theft occurred on Feb. 24 at Western Nevada College on Bently Parkway in Minden. The suspect took 19 panels from this location, said Sgt. Pat Brooks.

On Feb. 28 a report was filed from the 4200 block of Kyle Drive where 12 panels and a control panel were taken. During this incident a neighbor witnessed the theft and reported a dark blue pickup at the scene.

A third incident was reported March 10 at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, where three panels were stolen.

Brooks said it is unknown if the thefts are related.

A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of the suspect. Identity is not needed, callers remain anonymous.
