The team that searchers for lost hikers and rescues trapped climbers in Mono County is looking for volunteers willing to help them accomplish their mission.
The Mono County Search and Rescue team’s annual recruitment drive is 7 p.m. Wednesday in Mammoth Lakes.
“This is the perfect opportunity to meet current team members, tour the SAR building, see what equipment is utilized by the team, and get all the information you need on this dynamic all-volunteer team,” Mono County Spokeswoman Jennifer Hansen said.
The SAR team is the local search and rescue team comprised of all volunteer members. The team averages approximately 30 operations per year.
“The team is seeking members who want to be a part of a dynamic team, who want to get out there and help people, and who have the time and dedication it takes for trainings and field operations,” Hansen said.
The drive will be at the SAR building located at the corner of southbound Highway 203 and Meridian Blvd.
