The R-C Morning Report for Feb. 26

Douglas County is looking for a new planning commissioner after the departure of Jeremy Davidson, who’s moving to Reno. The long-time Gardnerville resident announced he was resigning at the commission’s Feb. 11 meeting. Deadline to apply is March 14. Visit the county’s web site for an application at www.douglascounty.nv.gov

A winter weather advisory kicks off at 4 p.m. today for Western Douglas County with the best potential for snow in the mountains between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. Thursday. Looks like 3-6 inches at Lake level with 10-15 inches above 7,000 feet. Expect some sort of chain controls through the Sierra for the Thursday morning commute.

Meanwhile, down in the Valley, it looks like we’re going to have a pretty good chance of some rain, though nothing drought busting, maybe more than a tenth of an inch. A second storm on Friday could bring a little more rain and some snow on Saturday morning, maybe. At least it’s cloudy out this morning.
