A Round Hill woman suspected of shooting and killing her husband is being held in Minden jail on an open murder charge.
Tatiana Leibel, 50, was taken into custody on Tuesday morning in connection with the Sunday death of husband, 64-year-old Harold Leibel.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to 452 Kent Way at about 11 a.m. on a report that Harold had shot himself.
Tatiana Leibel told deputies that she and her husband were the only ones in the house at the time of the shooting.
Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Pat Brooks said Mr. Leibel was shot twice.
Mrs. Leibel was taken into custody 8:50 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant issued for her arrest for open murder.
Brooks said the arrest warrant was issued based on detectives’ investigation and an autopsy.
She is being held without bail.
According to the Douglas County Assessor’s Office, the home at 452 Kent in Round Hill is owned by Harry Leibel and Tatiana Kosyrkina, who purchased it in 2006.
Kosyrkina and Leibel are listed as officers of a computer software company TLA & Group Corp., registered with the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office in 2006. The corporation’s status was revoked.
This is the fourth homicide involving Douglas County residents in four months.
