The R-C Morning Report for Feb. 25

A Gardnerville man who has been awaiting trial on charges of robbery and battery is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court this morning for a change of plea. Miguel Banuelos Rubio Jr., 27, faces charges in connection with the May 25, 2013, beating of a man in an alleged robbery.

The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension will unleash the bees 6 p.m. at the CVIC Hall as bee expert Bill Knight will give a free talk on keeping an apiary as part of the Agriculture Innovation Forum series.

February will go out on a wet note as two winter storms roll into Western Nevada this week. The first storm is expected to arrive early Thursday morning with snow levels down to around 5,000 feet. The second storm is expected to arrive on Friday.

Today at least, expect sunny skies with the high in the 60s, and the slightest breeze this afternoon. The clouds will roll in tonight, with a chance of showers starting 10 a.m. Wednesday.
