The R-C Morning Report for Feb. 19

Eagles and Ag is this weekend, but beyond the dinner, there isn’t much chance you’ll get on one of the tours. But it is Nevada, and if you feel like trying your luck contact the chamber at 782-8144. The dinner costs $35 and is 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Carson Valley Inn. There’s also a reception and photo exhibit 5:30 p.m. Thursday for $10 a person.

Whatever moisture was supposed to come with this front has been blown to kingdom come by the wind, which is still gusting this morning. The NDOT wind gauge at 395 and Genoa Lane recorded several gusts in the 40s including one at 49 mph.

There are chain controls over the Mount Rose Highway and it looks like there might be some precipitation in the mountains to the south, but everything else is just windy.

Expect breezy conditions to continue through today with west winds 15-25 mph slowing down in the afternoon. Gusts late this morning could get up to 35 mph. The high temperature could hit 51 under mostly sunny skies.
