Man killed in Interstate 80 collision

A four-vehicle accident on Interstate 80 near Mustang resulted in one death this morning, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred 7:44 a.m. when the driver of an eastbound blue Chevrolet S-10 pickup eastbound on the highway collided with an eastbound commercial vehicle.

The pickup travelled up the embankment and over the guardrail, rolling several times, and striking a green Honda CRV and a gray Honda Accord, both in the westbound lanes.

The man driving the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured, and there was only minor damage to the other three vehicles.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 80 were closed along with one eastbound lane while the wreck was cleared. All travel lanes were open by 9:04 a.m.
