The R-C Morning Report for Feb. 14

It’s a blustery Valentine’s Day morning, and florists are preparing for their busiest day of the year. The folks next door here in The Record-Courier Building were up late last night getting ready and are back in early this morning.

Eagles & Ag is a week away and pretty much every event is full. There are usually a few seats available at the dinner on Feb. 21, but I would definitely call the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce at 782-7144 to find out, or see if there’s been a cancellation on one of the tours.

Expect breezy conditions today with the wind out of the southwest 10-15 mph speeding up to 20 mph this afternoon with gusts of up to 30 mph. That’s the roll up to Saturday’s high wind watch with winds 25-35 mph, gusting to 60 mph. Looking through these tight isobars, there might be some rain starting Saturday night through Sunday, with snow likely in the mountains.
