The R-C Morning Report for Feb. 10

A Las Vegas man who threatened to kill his neighbor in February 2012 when he was living in the Gardnerville Ranchos is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court for sentencing this morning. James M. Seyfferle, 45, was originally charged with home invasion and stalking.

I had 3 inches of rain in my gauge from this weekend. A half inch of rain fell since Sunday morning. That sounds pretty typical for the Carson Range foothills. Fortunately the snow level stayed relatively high. The snow depth at Ebbetts Pass doubled from 29 inches on Thursday to 61 inches today. The snow-water equivalent hit 13 inches, up from 7.2 inches earlier in the week. Heavenly Valley went from a snow depth of 18 inches on Friday to 50 inches today, according to the snow telemetry.

The rain will taper off today, well short of 40 days and 40 nights, though it might not have seemed like it over the weekend. Expect scattered showers before 10 a.m. with a high near 52 degrees. The wind will pick up this afternoon a bit.
