The R-C Morning Report for Feb. 7

Douglas County commissioners opened the legal path for a craft distillery on Thursday while approving a 360-day moratorium on medical marijuana enterprises while the state cleared the regulatory haze surrounding the new law.

Last night’s wind caused a few power bumps and I saw a Frontier crew working on a line on my way into the office this morning. Looks like the Minden NDOT station recorded a 38 mph gust at 1 a.m. A wind advisory is in effect from 10 tonight to 4 p.m. Saturday as the front rolls in.

There’s no evidence that yesterday’s fizzard left anything worth writing about in the Carson Range or the Valley. There’s a winter storm warning for Sierra starting noon today and lasting until noon Saturday. We could see some snow tonight, but we might not.

It’s 39 degrees out this morning, so we don’t have far to go to get to the high temperature of 50. While there’s snow in the forecast for this morning, it’s not much. Expect around a quarter inch of rain over the weekend, if there’s any precipitation at all.
