Thieves harvest bumper crop in Ranchos

Douglas County authorities are seeking help finding whoever helped themselves to parts attached to vehicles parked in the Gardnerville Ranchos Jan. 9-24.

According to the sheriff’s office, the first victim reported someone took the rear bumper from his 2011 Toyota pickup on Jan. 9 in the 1000 block of Riverview Drive.

Another bumper and a tailgate were reported removed from a 1999 Toyota pickup parked along Tyndal Way on Jan. 14.

A catalytic converter was reported removed from the exhaust system of a Ford F250 parked in the 1400 block of Patricia Drive on Jan. 20.

On Jan. 24, the owner of a Ford F150 reported the theft of the rear bumper. The pickup was parked in the 1200 block of Monarch Drive.
