Woman on probation gets prison

A Stateline woman with five days left on her probation was sent to prison for 1-3 years on Monday. Shannon Birnberg, 40, admitted she’d been using alcohol in violation of the probation she was serving for using someone else’s credit card to attempt to purchase two watches worth $17,671 and $18,360 in September 2010. Birnberg appeared in custody in Douglas County District Court asking Judge Michael Gibbons for a dishonorable discharge from probation.
