A Gardnerville man is scheduled to be arraigned in Douglas County District Court on a charge of felony being under the influence after a Nov. 1 incident where he was ordered out of his vehicle at gunpoint and failed to comply. Raymond Garrison, 38, and his wife were pulled over on Highway 395 after a report of a domestic battery. Garrison admitted to obstructing in East Fork Justice Court.
Between the cloudiness and the light snow that fell through most of the day on Sunday, I doubt anything saw its shadow, much less a groundhog. The roads are expected to be slick this morning thanks in part to the freezing fog. Chains or snow tires are required on Kingsbury, and over Spooner and through to Stateline. There have already been a couple of noninjury accidents up in Reno.
It appears that Minden was the only place in the Carson River basin to receive its full measure of moisture in January and the vast majority of that on one day. According to the National Weather Service 1.52 inches fell during the month in the Douglas County seat. Meanwhile the mountains got half their average for the month.
