Fort Churchill State Historic Park welcomes the public for a variety of programs in late August and September.

September 15: Chautauqua at Buckland Station

Park Ranger Mike Dinauer portrays Samuel Buckland, owner of Buckland Station. The Buckland family operated Buckland Station on the Carson River in the late 1800s near Fort Churchill. The station was also a Pony Express stop, an Overland Stage stop, a hotel for weary emigrant travelers and a retreat for soldiers during time of leave from Fort Churchill. Entrance to Buckland Station is $1 per person; children 12 and under are free.
