November 17, 1893
While hunting last Sunday, Joe Scheick accidentally dropped his pipe into the water which was about two feet deep. When he tried to rescue his pipe, he caught a huge catfish and had no difficulty in getting it to land with his hands.

The President of the United States having by proclamation designated Thursday, November 27, 1914, as a National Day of Thanksgiving, now therefore, I, Tasker L. Oddie, Governor of the State of Nevada, do hereby proclaim and designate November 27, 1914, a day of public Thanksgiving.

A large barn and considerable baled hay along with various farm implements was destroyed on the H. H. Springmeyer Land and Development company ranch near Minden Tuesday, between 12 and 1 o’clock.

Four charges have been filed by the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office against Nolen Frazier, 44, Reno, who allegedly forced another car off the highway and drove away. The other car, driven by Ronald Giusti, was reportedly forced off the road and into a ditch some two miles north of Minden.
