More than 100 spectators attended the annual pond tour Saturday, which featured 11 ponds from Carson City, Gardnerville and Minden.
Sponsored by the Northern Nevada Pond Club, owners answered questions regarding filtration systems, fish and construction.
“It was great. People really enjoyed it,” club secretary Sharon Dunk said. “It was definitely a learning situation for a lot of people.”
Dunk said there were many different size ponds on this year’s tour as well.
“A lot of people have small backyards and don’t think they can have a pond,” she added. “The tour opens the door for a lot of people who want to put in a pond, or upgrade their pond.”
The pond club meets 6 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at a member’s home. For more information, call Dunk at 267-0336.
Anyone interested in showcasing their pond on next year’s tour should call Dunk.
