Weekly storytime offers more than just words

On Tuesday at the Douglas County Public Library in Minden, children sang, played loud instruments, created art projects and listened to stories without once being told to be quiet. Every week the library hosts free storytime for toddlers and preschoolers at 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. “It introduces young children to literacy, group activities, socializing and communication skills,” senior library technician Maria Pearson said. “It’s very educational for these young children.
