The Lettermen perform at Carson Valley Inn
October 10, 2013
The Carson Valley Inn fall 2013 Concert Series kicks off with the return of The Lettermen on Oct. 22 and 23.
Doors open 7 p.m. and the show starts 7:30 p.m. both nights. Tickets are $29.99 for either night, and may be purchased at the Carson Valley Inn hotel desk or call 783-6606.
The Lettermen usually appear at large concert halls and arenas, but attendees can see them up-close during these two concerts in the Valley Ballroom at the Carson Valley Inn.
“The Lettermen played to large crowds when they were here at the CVI for three shows in May of 2012. They had a good time, our audiences loved them and said ‘bring ‘em back again’ . . . so back they come,” Stew Stewart, entertainment director for the Carson Valley Inn, said. “I’ve known these gentlemen for a long time and can guarantee lots of nostalgia, smiles and good feelings like the old days.”
The Lettermen were signed to Capitol records in the summer of 1961 and their hits have been numerous including “Goin’ Out Of My Head/Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” “Hurt So Bad,” “Theme From “A Summer Place,” “The Way You Look Tonight,” “When I Fall In Love,” “Graduation Day,” “Shangri-La” and many more that have shaped the nostalgia years of many a baby boomer. Among 32 consecutive albums which charted in the Top 100 in the United States, four were certified gold.
Founding member Tony Butala is proud of the fact his group has been part of Americana for 50 years.
“As long as there is a Lettermen group, they will be singing good, quality, and positive harmony music that the whole family can enjoy,” Butala said.
Tickets for The Lettermen are $29.99 for either of the shows. Groups of 20 or more are invited to contact the sales department at the Carson Valley Inn at 783-6624 for special group pricing.
