Shelby’s hosts book signing
May 6, 2014
Tracy Clark, a newly published local writer, will be signing her book Scintillate 6 p.m. Friday at Shelby’s Book Shoppe in Minden Village.
The signing will be held in 88 Cups and More. Food and drink will be available.
The book is about a young woman named Cara Sandoval. Her mother disappeared when she was five and they were living in Ireland. Her father moves her back to the United States, and has been very overprotective, and Cara is becoming impatient with his restrictions
But even more troubling is the colorful light she suddenly sees around other people. Everyone, that is, except herself. She glows a brilliant sparking silver.
As Cara begins to learn about the danger associated with these strange auras, she is drawn to Finn, a gorgeous Irish exchange student who makes her feel safe. Her father disapproves of the relationship and Finn’s mother upon hearing of the love affair orders him home to Ireland.
After a fight with her father she sets off to follow Finn and to look for her mother.
There she meets another silver-haloed person and discovers the meaning of her new found powers and their role in a conspiracy spanning centuries — one that could change mankind forever — and end her life.
Clark will talk about the book and how it came to be.
Shelby’s Book Shoppe is located at 1663 Lucerne St, Minden. Books will be on sale.
