Rotary hosts trail trial and ranch sorting
September 6, 2013
Rotary International of Smith Valley invites the public to test their riding skills in the trail trial and ranch sorting contests.
Rotary will be hosting a short course trail trial on Oct. 5 as one of the many activities featured during their annual fall “Fun Days” festival.
The entry fee for the trail trial is $35 for adults and $25 for youth. A lunch ticket for each rider will be included with their entry.
“If you won’t be riding but would like to be involved, we are also in need of trail trial volunteers,” organizers said. “We will need 10 Judges and some various helpers, too.”
For more information on the trail trial, call Jill Fry at 772.5554.
On Oct. 6, there will be a ranch sorting event at the Dressler Park Arena.
The entry fee is $10 per “go” or $25 for three. There will be novice, advanced and open (any combination of levels).
The event will be a 50/50 “jackpot,” 50 percent to the kitty and 50 percent to the Smith Valley Rotary Club.
For more information on the ranch sorting, call Carolyn Day at 721-3166.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on both days. Events start at 10 a.m.
