Creative visual arts class
Ages 6-16 will create over a dozen exciting artistic adventures including watercolors, tye-dye and creative clay creatures. Class held June 23-26 at the recreation annex building. Cost is $99 plus $20 material fee payable to the instructor.
Chef Patrick Henry will teach students culinary classes at his catering kitchen in Gardnerville. Thursday classes are 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturday classes are 10 a.m.-noon. Cost is $60 per class. Spaces are limited.

Beginner's Tai Chi
Learn this soft martial arts form that will include warm ups, exercises and repetitions. Class will be Saturdays at Lampe Park and is ongoing. Cost is $5 per month.
Concealed Weapon Certification
This course will cover the requirements for Nevada State CCW and can be taken by CCW applicants or anyone wanting to learn to shoot handguns. Class will be 6-9:30 p.m. June 18 and June 20 at the Recreation Annex building, and 8-11 a.m. June 21 at Douglas County Shooting Range. Cost is $90, plus an additional $10 insurance fee payable to the instructor. Spouses are half price.
Learn to establish good conduct and curb bad habits and help teach basic commands. Class held 7-8 p.m. Wednesdays, June 18-July 23 at the Carson Valley Middle School's parking lot. Cost is $80.
All-day scrapbooking workshop
Enjoy a day to work on your scrapbooking projects. Instructor Jackie Gordon will share ideas, and have tools available for use. Class will be 10 a.m.-6 p.m. June 21 at the Senior Center. Cost is $10 which includes a snack and water
