Jimmy Buffet tribute band headlines concert in the park

The Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department GE Family Concert Series continues July 12 with Garratt Wilkins and the Parrotheads.
The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at Minden Park. Spaces no larger than 10-feet-by-10-feet can be reserved starting at 7a.m. the day of concert, no blankets on the lawn until after 5 p.m. the day of concert.
Beaches, boats, bars and tropical drinks with those colorful little umbrellas. This is what you think of while listening to Garratt Wilkin & the Parrotheads performing a celebration of Jimmy Buffett music.
"Garratt Wilkin & the Parrotheads are experiencing an expanding popularity while headlining fairs and festivals in not only his own hometown of Placerville, Calif., but throughout all of the Western United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, and as far away as Florida, Texas, Vermont, Delaware, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Nashville, Tennessee," organizers said.
"Garratt and his band have been billed as the No. 1 Jimmy Buffett tribute band."
"Traveling with 'The Parrotheads' is a great way to meet Jimmy Buffett fans and to make new 'Parrothead' friends," lead singer Wilkins said.

Concessions will be include hamburgers by Tahoe Douglas Elks, smoothies by Soroptimist International and Hoch Family Creamery Ice Cream by the Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley
