Main Street Gardnerville invites the community to submit photos to be part of the next Sidewalk Gallery display featuring Valley fall colors.
They will be accepting photographs from any resident featuring fall colors from the area until noon Oct. 18.
“This is a great opportunity for hobbyist, students, professionals and everyday smart phone users to capture the great Valley fall colors and have them on display for all to enjoy,” sponsors said. “Please come by and see the current gallery featuring photos by Douglas High School Students.”
A committee will choose 16 photos to put on display.
Main Street Gardnerville is looking for sponsors to help fund the framing, enlarging and laminating needed for this project.
To purchase prints from the artists, contact Main Street Gardnerville.
Entries should be submitted digitally to plochridge@MainStreetGardnerville.org.
Over the past two years, the Sidewalk Gallery has featured the artwork of Douglas High School photography students, members of the Carson Valley Art Association, and Main Street volunteers.
Each display has been mounted by volunteers on the boarded up windows of the old, vacant building at the corner of Eddy Street and Highway 395 in Gardnerville.
Main Street Gardnerville is a community based self-help program with various members of the community volunteering to revitalize the downtown.
Even though Main Street Gardnerville focuses strictly on the downtown district, the program benefits the entire community and surrounding areas.
