Scarecrows are for all ages

The making of scarecrows is not only for children; it is for anyone who would like to kick off fall in a creative and fun way. The annual scarecrow festival, hosted by the East Fork Gallery, is 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 5 in Minden Park. “Parents have a ball,” said Dorrine Sadilek, the gallery’s treasurer. “Sometimes they have more fun than the kids… I think it brings out the little kid in them.” This fundraiser for the nonprofit gallery has been an annual fall kickoff event since 1985, and gallery members hope this year will be the best yet.
